BEING LEONARDO DA VINCI

Being Leonardo da Vinci is a 2019 film written and directed by Massimiliano Finazzer Flory made in collaboration with Rai Cinema and with the patronage of the National Committee for the celebrations of the 500 years of Leonardo da Vinci’s death.

Two journalists, from New York and Milan, unaware of each other, are looking for a scoop for the 500 years since Leonardo’s death. They see works and cross the places of genius between landscapes and mysterious encounters. In Florence for the first time, during a costume show among monks, tourists and flag-wavers, unexpected traces are found. In Milan, a useful document is revealed to reveal who Leonardo Uomo was, through a scientific examination. They arrive at his last home in Clos LucĂ© and really meet Leonardo. The interview is granted. The words of the genius are authentic, in the Renaissance language. At the end Leonardo escapes among the undergrounds returning to Vigevano and revealing himself to the most important characters in his history.

Alberto D. K. Marconcini, in the role of a Dominican friar, retraces the mysterious reminiscence of Zoroaster, assuming his robes in his own appearance.
